In the tropical Florida heat, a man with deadly secrets falls for a lovely, inquisitive reporter…
After Luca Rossi lost everything to the Italian mafia, he used all his skills to write a stunning expose, and managed to put a key don on trial for his life. But now Luca must hide out on the Florida coast until justice is served in Italy. All is well, until he meets a lovely young American reporter who won’t stop asking questions about who he is. Soon he’s fighting the urge to hush her with a kiss … and much, much more.
Skylar Shaw took a job with a small Florida paper determined to make her mark on the journalistic world. She may spend her days writing up alligator scares and human interest stories, but when she meets a handsome mystery man on the beach, she’s not afraid to dig into his past, and the danger stalking him from across the seas. There’s just one problem … will her efforts help Luca, or bring danger straight to him?
Luca knows all too well the journalistic drive to keep digging. Can he trust his lovely Skylar to keep his secrets, or must he push her away to save both their lives?
* This book was originally published in September 2015 with a different cover.
Hot Shade tells the story of Skylar Shaw, a sassy journalist, and Luca Rossi, a mysterious Italian that may or may not be the good Samaritan that saved a man after a plane crash that Skylar is covering for the paper she works for.
The books have a great balance of love, lust, and suspense. It was so well adjusted that it kept me interested and on edge all the time. After the 60% mark, I couldn’t help but sit and finish the story! It was fun!
Luca is sexy and such a great guy. He is a true gentleman. And a warning ladies: he says a LOT of stuff in Italian. #Swoon
Skylar is full of insecurities because of her previous relationship. She is easy to like and to relate to. The way Luca helped her to grow past her lack of confidence is beautiful. With o pressure and a lot of patience. Like I said: a great guy!
Hot Shade is really good, fun, full of twists and the perfect amount of steam.
And there is also an ex-girlfriend from hell. Beware! I was frustrated and irritated every time Annalisa made an appearance, but she is a necessary evil. She is there to make you hate her more. That b*tch. Seriously… I hate her. Tamara Lush created a villain REALLY easy to dislike. That’s good writing!
So, peeps, I recommend this book if you like to feel all the feels and fall in love with foreign hot guys! I miss Luca and Sky!
