What impact would it have when everything suddenly faded to black?
For Mia, a crowded subway ride changes her entire life. Retreating to the wilderness helps her cope with a world that is suddenly too loud, too turbulent.
Her existence safely contained to the small cottage on the lake, she is unprepared for the neighbor that moves across the bay
A career-ending injury has Jared permanently benched. His reputation as The Enforcer won’t survive the unanticipated responsibilities awaiting him.
Away from the public eye, he adjust to his new reality, under the quiet observation of the intriguing hermit on the other side of the water.
This was my first book by Freya Barker ad it made me a fan! What caught my attention first was the cover, then I read the blurb and I just knew I had to read it! And it is SO GOOD!
The first thing that I have to say is that I loved the pace of the story. There was no rush, no big drama and even without any fuss, it wasn’t boring at all. The lakeside, middle of nowhere and peaceful setting were a breath of fresh air for me.
If I was to describe A Change in Tide with one word it would be “mature”. The H/h behave like adults and fall in love like adults. The hero is 39 and the heroine is 42. The book is basically focused on those two, having side characters that are there just to complement the story a little.
The book tells us the story of two broken people that are so different but exactly what the other need.
I normally talk more about the hero, and Jared was great. He has a big heart and is super protective. But for me, Mia was the best character in the book. She is so strong, even though she has to deal with her limitations. The way she lives, the way she thinks. I LOVED Mia so much. Every time she had a meltdown I wanted to hug her, and every time she got up stronger I wanted to hug her more. What an AMAZING character.
And last but not least: the sex scenes?! OMG! They were so hot! I blushed a little and had a grin on my face while I read those. #FanSelf
This is a #MustRead and I totally #Recommend
